The wide sashing between the squares allows ample room to cut these squares apart and use them individually, if desired. In addition to cutting the blocks apart, this pattern will look terrific by simply adding borders and backing then quilting for a lovely, quick project or gift. The blocks can also be cut apart into rows and used to border the bottom of a tablecloth or shower curtain. Several rows can be used for valances, tier curtains or bedskirts.

The Brick House was the Vermont home of Shelburne Museum's founder Electra Havemeyer Webb and her husband James Watson Webb. The Brick House and 1,000 acres of land were a wedding gift from Watson's parents in 1913.
